Non-Contact Depth Gauges for Testing AS/NZS socket-Outlets
1. Introduction
The non-contact depth gauges are designed according to AS/NZS3112 figure 3.1 (a) (b) (c) and clause 3.3.4 for depth of contact test for socket apertures for flat pins and round pins. Gauges as per figure 3.1 (a) and (b) are used for depth of non-contact test for 10A&15A and 20A flat socket-outlets. And gauge as per figure 3.1 (c) is used for depth of non-contact test for round socket-outlets.
When the test gauge is inserted into socket-outlet live contact apertures in any possible manner, without undue force, contact with live parts shall not be possible.
