What is test probe B?
Test probe B also be called as jointed test finger is strictly designed according to IEC61032, this probe is intended to verify the basic protection against access to hazardous parts. It is also used to verify the protection against access with a finger. IEC61032 is a general standard to figure out the degrees of protection by enclosures with probe to verification, but in some product standards, the test probe B should make a little change to adapt the tests apply to the enclosures of difference appliance.
The application of the deformed probes B
IEC60335-1 is the product standard for household and similar electrical appliances, in the clause 20.2, a test probe that is similar to test probe B of IEC61032 but having a circular stop face with a diameter of 50mm, instead of non- circular face is applied to test the moving parts of appliance. In standard IEC60335-2-14 (the particular requirements for kitchen machines) clause 20.2, a test probe similar to that of test probe B of IEC61032 but having a circular stop face with a diameter of 125mm instead of the non-circular face is applied to test the blenders, and the distance between the tip of the test finger and stop face being 100mm.
Comparison Table
From the description, we can find that the test finger part is basically unchanged, the deformed part is the stop face, Below is the table for comparison.
