Back-Siphonage Testing Machine
Overview

Inlet Valve Back-Siphonage Testing Machine

1. Introduction

The backsiphonage testing machine is designed to meet the test requirements of IEC60335-1 clause 22.48 and IEC61770 annex A, for verifying the backsiphonage performance of inlet valve of household and similar purpose appliances at critical water level. This equipment simulates the vacuum state of the water mains via its own vacuum pumping system to detect whether siphonage occurs in the inlet valve. There is a transparent container between the sample and the vacuum machine, which is used to collect the water flow sucked in when the siphon test fails, so as to protect the vacuum machine from damage.

Appliance intended to be connected to the water mains shall be constructed to prevent back-siphonage of non-potable water into the water mains.
