Enamelled Round Wire Abrasion Resistance Test Apparatus
1. Introduction
The enamelled round wire abrasion resistance test apparatus is designed according to IEC60851-3 clause 7 figure 1 and figure 2 and GB/T4074.3 clause 5.2. It’s used to test the abrasion resistance of the enamel film on round enameled wires with a nominal conductor diameter over 0.250 mm.
Principle:
A straight piece of wire is subjected to a unidirectional scrape test, by a needle to which a progressively increasing load is applied and which scrapes along the wire surface. The load that causes an electrical contact of the needle with the conductor is called the load-to-failure.
