Overview

The enamelled round wire jerk test apparatus is designed according to IEC60851-3 clause 6.4 figure 5 and GB/T4074.3 clause 6.4 figure 5. It’s used to test the film adhesion properties of enameled round wires with a nominal conductor diameter up to and including 1.000 mm.

1. Introduction

The enamelled round wire jerk test apparatus is designed according to IEC60851-3 clause 6.4 figure 5 and GB/T4074.3 clause 6.4 figure 5. It’s used to test the film adhesion properties of enameled round wires with a nominal conductor diameter up to and including 1.000 mm.

A straight piece of wire shall be rapidly stretched to the breaking point with test equipment as shown in figure 5. A free measuring length of between 200mm and 250mm shall be provided. After stretching, the specimen shall be examined for cracks or loss of adhesion under a magnification as given in Table 2. A distance of 2mm from the broken ends shall be disregarded.
