Pull Test Apparatus for Testing Cord Anchorage of Appliance Couplers
1.Introduction
Pull test apparatus designs to meet the test requirements of IEC60320-1 clause 22.2.3 and figure 6, for testing the cord (cable) anchorage of connectors / plug connectors relieve from strain and twist. In IEC60884-1 standard, we also name it apparatus for cord retention testing.
Fix the test sample in the test apparatus, so that the axis of the cord is vertical where it enters the connector / plug connector. The cord is then subjected 100 times to a pull of 50N for connectors / plug connectors having a rated current not exceeding 2.5A, and 60N for others. Apply the pulls without jerks, each time for 1s.
