1. Introduction

The steel ball drop test device can meet the requirements of IEC60598-1 clause 4.13.4 test a), IEC60950-1 clause 4.2.5, AS-NZS61439.4 clause 10.2.6.2 and IEC60601-1 clause 15.3.3 and etc.. Applying to do the drop impact test for external surface of enclosure. The device can perform vertical free fall drop, the impact height can be adjustable as per the specimen, electromagnetic release the steel ball to make it fall freely, hit the sample, and judge the quality according to the degree of damage, it has the features of easy operation and high accuracy.

A sample consisting of complete enclosure is supported in its normal position, a solid smooth steel ball is permitted to fall freely from rest through a certain vertical distance onto the sample. The steel ball drop test is applied to the face of a cathode ray tube, the platen glass of equipment, the surface of enclosure of stationary equipment and a flat panel display.
