Enamelled Round Wire Peer Test Apparatus
1. Introduction
The enamelled round wire peer test apparatus is designed according to the IEC60851-3 clause 6.5 figure 6 and GB/T4074.3 clause 6.5 figure 6. It’s used to test the film adhesion properties of enameled round wires with a nominal conductor diameter over 1.000 mm.
A straight piece of wire shall be placed in the test equipment consisting of two fixing devices 500mm apart on the same axis. One of these is free to rotate. The other is not but can be displaced axially and is loaded to apply a tension to the rotating wire. The pressure om the scraper shall be sufficient to remove the coating and leave a clean smooth surface at the coating/conductor interface without scraping off a significant quantity of conductor material. The removal of the coating shall commence about 10mm from the flexing devices. The coating device shall be driven at a speed of between 60r/min and 100r/min until the number of revolutions R as specified in the relevant standard has been reached.
