The application of striking elements

The striking elements are the core components in the IK mechanical impact tests, release the striking element from a height specified in table 2 of IEC60068-2-75, the corresponding impact energy will be generated.

The striking elements and pendulum arm can compose to pendulum hammers; the striking elements and release system can compose to spring hammers; the striking elements fall freely from a vertical height, that is vertical hammers.

The striking elements for severities not exceeding 1J tests is made of polyamide, for severities 2J and above tests is made of steel. The pendulum impact test apparatus mainly consisted by striking elements, test rig, pendulum rods. The vertical impact test apparatus is mainly consisted by striking elements, test rig, fixed-height guideways. The spring hammer test apparatus is mainly consisted by striking element, the body and the release system. How to choose the right apparatus to perform the corresponding tests, we will introduce in next article.
