1. Brief Introduction to IEC60851-3
IEC 60851-3 is Part 3 of the IEC 60851 series for test methods of winding wires, formally titled Winding wires – Test methods – Part 3: Mechanical properties. This standard specifies unified test procedures for mechanical properties of various enameled, fiber-wrapped and film-covered winding wires, covering five core tests: elongation, springiness, flexibility and adherence, resistance to abrasion, and heat bonding. Annexes provide reference schemes for friction testing. General terms and general test provisions shall comply with IEC 60851-1. Widely applied in factory inspection and type certification of winding wires for motors and transformers, it unifies global criteria for judging mechanical performance of winding wires.
