Appliance Couplers Lateral Pull Test Apparatus

1. Introduction

The appliance couplers lateral pull test apparatus is designed to meet the test requirements of IEC60320-1 clause 23.3 and figure 8 to verify if the contact of connectors and appliance outlets have sufficient mechanical strength.

A lateral pull force in parallel with the engagement face, is applied to the cable of the connector / plug connector in four directions in step of 90°±5°, a pull force is applied 50 times in each direction to the cord for 1s ±0.5s. After the test, the connector / appliance outlet shall show no damage.
