About AS/NZS 3112
AS/NZS 3112 is an electrical safety standard jointly developed by Australia (AS) and New Zealand (NZS), fully titled AS/NZS 3112: 2017 Approval and test specification-Plugs and socket-Outlets. The standard specifies the safety design, performance criteria, and testing requirements for plugs and socket-outlets in household and similar applications, aiming to ensure the safe use of electrical equipment and prevent risks such as electric shock and fire. It applies to plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes with not exceeding 500V and a rated current not exceeding 32 A.
